What kind of discounts can you receive for recommending us?

We provide our small business clients with exemption from closing fees for 6 months for their first successful client recommendation1.

In the event of a successful recommendation2, we provide our retail clients, as well as small business clients who recommend us to additional clients3, with the following benefits – in accordance with the terms of the promotional offer:

  • A credit of HUF 10,000 if you recommend us to a new retail client4.
  • A credit of HUF 15,000 if you recommend us to a new Premium Banking client4
  • A credit of HUF 20,000 if you recommend us to a new small business client4.  

When is a recommendation considered successful?

A recommendation is considered successful if, within the framework of our client referral promotion, the recommended acquaintance opens a retail bank account5 with our bank and applies for a Mastercard® debit card, or opens any type of small business account (except for Exclusive Bronz) during the promotional period.

Who can be a recommender?

All retail and small business6 clients (except for clients with Exclusive Bronze account packages) who meet the requirements of active client status7 and have an active Mastercard debit card as a retail client.

What kind of discounts do we offer for our new – recommended – clients?

If you choose our Bank through a recommendation made as part of our promotional offer and become our retail or small business client, we provide you with an exemption from monthly closing fees for 6 months for the first account you open with us (EBKM /Unified Deposit Rate Index/: 0.01%).  

In addition, you can also receive credit if you meet the criteria of the promotional offer specified below:

  • As a retail client, you can receive a credit of HUF 10,000 in accordance with the terms of the promotional offer8, if  
    o a one-off amount of HUF 150,000 is transferred9 to your account,
    o you meet the requirements of active client status7 and
    o you have an activated Mastercard debit card.
  • If you become our Premium Banking client, you can receive a credit of HUF 15,000 in accordance with the terms of the promotional offer8, if
    o a one-off amount of HUF 300,000 is transferred9 to your account,
    o you meet the requirements of active client status7 and
    o you have an activated Mastercard debit card.

In this event, you can also receive the benefits available for existing clients, which we present at the top of this site. The conditions specified there shall prevail, subject to the provision that, in the event of a recommendation made by a new small business client, the references in footnotes 2 and 6 shall not be applied.

How can you recommend us?

  1. Please fill in the recommendation card here.
  2. Upon opening the account, the recommended person must hand over the recommendation card, completed with your data and the data of the recommended persons and signed, to our college in any UniCredit branch.
  3. If both you and the recommended person or company fulfil the terms and conditions for participation, then you or your company will be granted the discount specified in the Announcement.

1 This exemption from fees only applies to one account selected as an existing small business client (i.e. client with an SME payment account with our bank before 11 September 2017). If the existing small business client making the recommendation has already received exemption from monthly closing fees due to their successful recommendation made during a previous Client Referral Campaign, the client is not entitled to exemption from closing fees.

2 The Bank checks the fulfilment of the criteria and the eligibility to credit once per recommendation, based on the Recommended Client’s status at the end of the first month after they have opened their account.In the event of fulfilling the criteria, the amount is credited to the current account in the 3rd month after the recommended client has opened their account, but in January 2018 at the earliest.

3 In the event of recommending small business clients, for the successful recommendation of at least two, at most 11 clients.In the event that the existing small business client making the recommendation has already received an exemption from closing fees due to their successful recommendation made during a previous Client Referral Campaign, the recommending client becomes entitled to the credit as soon the first successful recommendation, provided that they fulfil the additional criteria; in this case, credit is only provided for up to 10 successful client recommendations.

4 Up to the successful recommendation of 10 clients, regardless of client type. The conditions that apply to recommendations initiated by the Bank’s employees differ from the above terms, and can be found in the relevant Announcement.

7 A client is considered to have active client status if, during the 3 months prior to the date appointed for determining the existence of active client status (or during the whole months elapsed since the account has been opened, if in the event of a Recommended Client, the time that elapsed since the recommended client has opened their account is less than three months):
the combined average of the Recommending or Recommended Client’s balance of credit (without overdue debt) and deposit account and the net asset value of their securities account is equal to or greater than HUF 5,000 (the calculation is made with the absolute value of the credit account balance, i.e. the credit is calculated with a positive sign) or
- the Recommending or the Recommended Client had at least one fulfilled transaction – initiated by them – (including credit cards).

The date appointed for determining the existence of active client status is the last business day of the month of recommendation in the event of recommending small business clients, the last business day of the first calendar month after the recommended client has opened their account in the event of recommending retail clients, and the last business day of the 3rd calendar month after the account has been opened in the event of a recommended retail client.

8 Entitlement to credit is checked on the last business day of the 3rd calendar month after the account has been opened. If the criteria are fulfilled, the amount is credited to the current account in the 4th month after the account has been opened, but in January 2018 at the earliest.

9 The crediting criterion regarding bank transfers must be fulfilled on or before the last working day of the 3rd calendar month after opening the account.

2 At our bank, small business client shall mean all private entrepreneurs or business or other organisations, which have a maximum of HUF 700 million annual net sales revenue and have or request a maximum of EUR 1 million (or HUF 250 million) in liabilities from the Bank, and which does not belong to an international group of companies, or to a domestic group of companies, the consolidated annual net sales revenue of its group companies exceeds HUF 700 million, is not a local government or company owned by a local government, it is not a financial or investment service provider, a pension fund or insurance company, nor a university, hospital or health institute.

3 The Mobile application must be activated by the end of the first month subsequent to the opening of the account at the latest.

4 Clients employed by an Employer with a cooperation agreement with the bank for discounted partner accounts and related services cannot refer another individual employed by the same Employer.

5 The fulfilment of the conditions and the entitlement of the crediting will be examined by the bank on a single occasion based upon the end of month status in the first month following the referred client’s opening of an account.

6 The exemption from fees only extends to a single, existing account (an account at our bank opened prior to 3 April 2017) designated by the small business client. Insofar as the referee benefited from the exemption from operational fees due to the referral of an existing small business client in a previous Client referral campaign, he or she is not entitled to an exemption of operational fees.

7 A successful referral of at least 2 and up to 10 clients. Insofar as the referee benefited from the exemption from operational fees due to the referral of an existing small business client in a previous Client referral campaign, he or she is still entitled to the credited amount upon fulfilling the additional conditions.

8 A regular receipt of income consists of the receipt of the appropriate credited amounts in the 3rd-4th-5th months subsequent to the opening of the account. Additionally, the account must show a positive balance on the final working day of the 5th month subsequent to the opening of the account.

9 New private clients must have an activated Mobile application at the end of the 5th month subsequent to the opening of the account.

10 Up to the successful referral of 10 clients.
