[Text Message service] (SMS service)

 

You can feel safer when using your bankcard if you choose our text message (SMS) service, since this way you can be notified of each card transaction almost immediately. You can request a text message notification in respect of your [debit card] or [credit card], or even several current accounts at the same time. You can monitor secondary card spending, too.

 

What are the advantages of the text message service?

  • easier monitoring of financial transactions,
  • available in both Hungarian and English,
  • you can decide what you want to be notified of.

If you apply for this service in respect of your bank account, you can receive text messages on

  • most of the credited and/or debited amounts1 (you can specify a minimum limit, in which case we will only notify you of transactions in excess of that amount);
  • the current balance of your account on a daily or weekly basis, or when there was a change compared to the previous day;
  • uncovered orders, with regard to HUF transfers which cannot be fulfilled due to the lack of coverage2;
  • direct debits received3;
  • interest rates on fixed term deposits (in case of rollover deposit account, at the final expiry only);
  • the expected instalment of your loan, once a month.

If you request this service in connection with your debit card, we will send a text message(4) on

  • successful, unsuccessful and cancelled cash withdrawals and purchases (you can specify a minimum limit, in which case we will only notify you of transactions in excess of that amount);
  • the debiting of bankcard transactions to your bank account;
  • the modification of cash withdrawal or purchase limits;
  • the current balance of the account attached to the bankcard on a daily or weekly basis, or when there was a change compared to the previous day.

If you request this service in connection with your credit card, we will send a text message on

  • successful, unsuccessful and cancelled cash withdrawals and purchases (you can specify a minimum limit, in which case we will only notify you of transactions in excess of that amount);
  • the daily closing balance, i.e. the amount of the current debt (this amount does not contain the items that have not been booked yet);
  • the amount of the total debt i.e. the closing balance as of the repayment date, the minimum amount payable and the payment deadline;
  • fee and interest rate charges.

How can you apply for the text message service?

You can order our text message service for a fee in the following ways:

  • under the “text message (SMS) service” menu item in our [eBanking] system;
  • through our [Telephone Banking] service by calling +36 1 325 3200;
  • at our branches in person.

1 Notification on bank account credits (excluding fee credits, and including only credits in connection with the final expiry of term deposits out of interest-type credits). Notifications on bank account debits (include only debits from credit repayments from among fee and interest-type debits).

2 If you initiate a transfer order to the debit of a HUF account in HUF and it cannot be fulfilled by 7 p.m. on the given value date due to a lack of coverage, we will notify you of this in a text message. You will have 3 working days to provide the coverage before the order is automatically cancelled.

3 It is submitted a minimum of 5 days before the value date of the direct debit.

4 The balance is the aggregate balance of all the accounts attached to the bankcard, calculated in HUF, in the light of any overdraft facilities. The balance is for information purposes only. With regard to non HUF-based transactions, the amount of the transaction is specified in the text message at the FX rate of the given day, which may differ from the exchange rate valid on the actual debit date of the transaction.
