The "Pass It On" Programme
It is particularly important for Unicredit Bank to encourage children and young adults to live a healthy lifestyle. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of physical exercises and recreational sports among children, in order to attract more children to love the sport and enjoy its benefits.
To achieve this mission, in 2009 we launched the Pass it on! programme, which is based on our years-long partnership with the UEFA Champions League. This highly popular sports event allows us to popularize the joy of sports among primary school children.
Primary schools may tender processes through the program, in which is a one-off, non-refundable subsidy that can be used for organising sport events or purchasing sports equipment. Schools are expected to organise whole-day or whole-weekend sports events with the participation of as many children as possible. Schools are also expected to submit a written report later. Out of the reports a committee made up of prestigious experts will select the best 10 reports. In addition to financial support, the selected 10 schools will also be presented with an official replica of the UEFA Champions League ball.
The success of the programme is indicated by the fact that each year approximately 100 primary schools participate and we reach nearly 40,000 students per occasion.
